Hypothermia for traumatic head injury
There is no evidence that hypothermia is beneficial in the treatment of head injury. Hypothermia should not be used except in the context of a high-quality randomised controlled trial with good allocation concealment.
Hypothermia has been used in the treatment of head injury for many years. This review assesses the effect of mild hypothermia for traumatic head injury on mortality and long-term functional outcome complications.
